South Cairns Resort

The place was fairly clean, and the staff was very friendly. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast at an excellent restaurant. the location is in a picturesque area, with a shopping village and supermarkets conveniently nearby.

I had pleasant stay, the place is excellent value and gorgeous!

My triple room was available with a safe box, an ironing set, and an electronic key card. The location was PERFECT, at a walking distance from The Entrance Town Centre. A mall and supermarkets were right next door. An attached restaurant was good for breakfast. Friendly services were available. Lucky me, got ironing free of charge too.

The room had everything I needed - air conditioning, a safe, and an iron; the location was central, and the staff were friendly and went above and beyond.

The bed was comfy and the room was brand-new. Very attentive staff who were working hard at renovations whilst still providing a great service and the setting was excellent! We dined at a good nearby restaurant with Japanese dishes.

Unfortunately Wi-Fi was very poor.

I had a comfortable and affordable stay out of town. the property was fairly clean, and the staff were friendly and kind. the location is great, just a short stroll from the Entrance Ocean Baths and within walking distance to shops and supermarkets. the restaurant offered reasonably priced breakfast options. the pool area was fantastic, with convenient parking right outside.

It was a little further out of town than I expected, however the bus service was good and cheap. Peaceful and certainly not rowdy. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well equipped. Good value.

The staff were friendly and helpful. After phoning the motel to let them know I would be arriving later (that night) than anticipated, my room was left discretely open for me with a car park reserved outside the room. They even put the air conditioner on for me! After driving for 8 hours and arriving late at night, it was wonderful to just walk into a nice cool room, shower and go to bed!

Not sure if the bed had fresh sheets.

This place offers great value and has friendly staff who are working on renovations while still providing excellent service.

The receptionist on the morning of the 18/9/2011 was so helpful as I had been let down on a rental car she phoned and got one for me then organised the taxi and she was so kind and friendly that I would go and stay there again longer next time.I Also told the Taxi driver so she can recomend the motel.

Very comfortable and excellent value for money, I have stayed in various hotels/motels in Cairns and can honestly say "I've paid more and got less". My family & I are due back in Cairns in November and cannot give a better recommendation than to say we will choose New Chalon again!

Although cable internet was available in all rooms it was not working in our room, but to be fair when I complained the member of staff on duty opened up the next room for me which was working, but out of a total of 5 nights I only accessed internet once. Next visit I'm sure problem will be rectified, this is not a complaint merely an observation.

This hotel offered a spacious room with great value for money and was conveniently located near New Chalon.
